چکیده

The prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) among patients with urinary tract infections (UTIs) has become a significant cause morbidity in all age groups. aim the current study was to identify S. methicillin-resistant (MRSA). Moreover, it aimed determine their antimicrobial susceptibility patterns and detect presence mecA, lukPV icaA genes isolated UTIs patients. A total 402 urine samples were collected from diagnosed aged (less than 80 years) at Zakho General Hospital City, August 2021 March 2022. From these samples, 37 (12.6%) identified molecularly confirmed by nuc gene. high MRSA 28 (75.7%) isolates Oxacillin sensitive test mecA Females highly infected males, most cases chronic condition married. In addition, 18 (64.3%) 21 (75%) harbored luk-PV genes, respectively. There widespread resistance for bacteria. Isolated Imipenem. Interestingly, positive correlation between both virulence marker (luk-PV icaA) found UTIs. Conclusion, data demonstrated, first time, alarming emergence multidrug-resistant community-acquired Kurdistan Region-Iraq. Further studies are required other cities report whether or not is UTI Iraqi Kurdistan.

Genotypic Investigation of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Strains Isolated from Urinary Tract Infection

Background and purpose: Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) have recently emerged as major causes of urinary tract infection (UTI). The aims of this study were to determine antibiotic susceptibility of S. aureus isolated from UTI and to detect the presence of mecA (causing resistance to methicillin) and SCCmec types. Materials and methods: In this cross sectional study, 44 S. au...

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

Staphylococcus aureus is responsible for a broad range of clinical infections, most notable of which are cases of bacteremia and endocarditis. Staphylococcus aureus is an important cause of serious infections in both hospitals and the community. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were first reported in 1961 and the first hospital outbreak of MRSA was reported in 1963. When MRSA ...

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

Staphylococcus aureus is an opportunistic pathogen often carried asymptomatically on the human body. Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) includes those strains that have acquired a gene giving them resistance to methicillin and essentially all other beta-lactam antibiotics. MRSA was first reported in 1961, soon after methicillin was introduced into human medicine to treat penicillinresistant...

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

MRSA was isolated from pus, urine, breast discharge, blood culture, cerebrospinal fluid, and ascetic fluid [2]. The extensive use of antibiotics over the last 50 years has led to the emergence of bacterial resistance and to the dissemination of resistance genes among pathogenic organisms [3]. In addition, since few cells in a population might actually express resistance, these heterogeneous str...
